The Most Important Skill You’ll Ever Learn… OR Teach

Categories: TAHRA Program Meeting

Presented by Josh Talbert

Unlock the keys to transformative leadership with "The Most Important Skill You'll Ever Learn... Or Teach." Based on Dr. John Maxwell's acclaimed "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership," this session focuses on two foundational principles: The Law of the Lid and The Law of Influence.

You’ll discover how to elevate your leadership capacity and increase your influence within your team and organization. Additionally, you’ll explore effective communication strategies that help develop a shared understanding, foster stronger relationships, and enhance your ability to influence others. Whether you’re a seasoned leader or an emerging talent, this presentation offers actionable insights and tools to enhance your leadership and communication, ultimately driving greater success in your personal and professional life.

After this program, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate a clear and concise definition of leadership, distinguishing it from talent and potential, and identify how leadership facilitates the process of turning potential into desired results.
  • Assess their leadership capacity and identify specific actions to raise it, thereby increasing their personal and organizational effectiveness.
  • Explore strategies to build influence by adding value to others and applying relational leadership principles, enhancing their ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
  • Learn to recognize different behavioral styles in themselves and others, using a structured communication framework to improve interactions, collaboration, and leadership effectiveness.

With over a decade of experience in human resources and leadership development, Josh combines practical insights from his military service and expertise as a Certified DISC Consultant to help organizations improve team communication, boost engagement, and strengthen leadership.
