Matrix is seeking a dynamic and experienced Training and Development (T&D) Specialist to join our team. This role involves designing, facilitating, and implementing a wide range of learning solutions associated with Matrix University. The T&D Specialist will have prime responsibility for live training programs, including the Matrix Leadership Development Program.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded training professional that is self-driven and possesses the ability to effectively interface with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including leaders, subject matter experts, and program participants. The T&D Specialist must thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with other members of the training team. This role offers the opportunity to create innovative learning solutions to meet organizational needs and plays a key role in fostering and maintaining a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization.

Detailed Description:

  • Actively support the Companys commitment to safety and its Core Values.
  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Companys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Lead by example and in alignment with the Company core values.
  • Actively support the organizations drive to create a diverse and inclusive learning culture.
  • Work as part of the Training and Development team to create and maintain training standards to ensure a high level of quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and assess the Companys training needs and develop new training programs or modify existing programs, as necessary.
  • Align training programs with current and new business initiatives and objectives and provide training solutions to address business needs.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and expected learning outcomes.
  • Support /coach learners and managers and act as a resource for training or development related questions.
  • Maintain appropriate records of training and development activities in the Companys Learning Management System (LMS), as required, for training documentation, reporting, etc.
  • Function at a high level in both a collaborative team environment as well as independently, as needed, to manage project assignments.
  • Perform other related duties, as directed.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Organizational Development, or other related area strongly preferred.
  • Equivalent job-related experience/knowledge if no degree. 5+ years’ experience in training and development, as demonstrated by work samples or portfolio.
  • Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, or the oil/gas industry preferred.
  • Professional training certification, such as ASTD’s Certified Professional in Learning and Performance Certification, is preferred.
  • Certified facilitator of training or assessment programs (MBTI, DISC, HOGAN, etc.) is a plus.
  • Significant experience using technology options for facilitating virtual learning sessions (Microsoft Teams, Adobe Connect, etc.).
  • Some Learning Management System administrator experience required.
  • Cornerstone experience is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of adult learning principles, training concepts, and facilitation techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent planning/project management skills are critical.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Ability to interact well with and provide training to all levels of the organization encompassing a diverse population of subject matter experts across departments, companies, and locations.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to research and gather content from multiple sources, translate and design into training materials.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to work independently and manage training projects and programs.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills required to balance competing project demands.
  • Experience working on training programs associated with organization change initiatives is a plus.
  • Team building facilitation experience is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Some experience with eLearning development/authoring software, preferably Articulate Storyline and Captivate.
  • Position requires occasional travel and overtime.
